Focusmaster is the link necessary for computer readout and control of Tele Vue’s Digital Indicator Kit and Focusmate Driver. Focusmaster was designed to be easy and convenient to use, from its in-line connectors which allow easy draping of cables, to the TVFocusPlus display/control software. Through the use of plug-ins, Focusmaster™ is compatible with ASCOM compliant focusing software. Hardware features include:

USB (cable included) port to connect to your computer. As your computer supplies power through the USB, no extra power cable / source is necessary.
RS-232 port to connect to Tele Vue’s Digital Indicator
RJ22 port to connect to Tele Vue's Focusmate Driver
Red/green status LED

Focusmaster Compatible Computer Software

Tele Vue's Focusmaster needs computer-based software to operate.

ShoeString Focus (for Mac OSX)
ShoeString Focus from Stark-Labs is a free program for controlling Focusmaster on the Mac.

TVFocusPlus (for Windows)
TVFocusPlus is free stand-alone software that allows you to change and monitor focus position though your computer. As it requires no additional software, TVFocusPlus is a good way to verify the Focusmaster hardware is setup correctly.

ASCOM drivers (for Windows)
ASCOM plug-in drivers allow ASCOM compatible focusing software (such as MaxIM DL and Astroart) to control the Focusmaster. There are two plug-ins: absolute for autofocusing with Digital Indicator and relative for manual-only focusing.
