Oion has combined their 120mm (f/8.3) achromatic refractor with their SkyView Pro equatorial mount to create a high performance instrument. The SkyView Pro 120 is the next generation of high-end equatorial refractor, but without the high-end price tag. The optical tube is finished in metallic silver enamel and contains a big, multi-coated 120mm (4.7") achromatic objective lens of 1000mm focal length (f/8.3) in an adjustable cell. These optics have the magnifying ability and resolution to split 2-arcsecond double stars, and the image scale to detect subtle lunar and planetary features. The 2" aluminum rack-and-pinion focuser (with 1.25" adapter) allows use of optional 2" eyepieces to take in true fields of view of up to 2°. The SkyView Pro equatorial mount provides the rigid stability demanded by avid astronomers. It features dual slow-motion controls for manual slewing and includes TrueTrack dual-axis DC drive for electronic tracking and photographic guiding. The adjustable-height tripod boasts steel tubular legs and a combination spreader-bar and accessory tray for superior rigidity. Standard accessories include a 6x30 finder scope with spring-loaded X-Y alignment, a star diagonal, and two Sirius Plössl eyepieces. The Dual-axis control is ideal for high-power viewing and astrophotography. Hand controller allows sidereal tracking in right ascension and electronic control of declination. Features 2x, 4x, and 8x speeds, plus pause mode. Thumbwheel clutches on both motors allow use of manual slow-motion controls if desired. Includes two motors, hand controller, and battery pack (four D cells not included).
